Frequently Asked Questions

Below is a consolidated list of the most common questions we receive from vendors, venues, and event organizers

  • High-intent traffic, not casual scrolling
Instagram users are mostly there for quick inspiration; Naija.Events visitors arrive ready to book vendors and organise events, so every click carries purpose.

  • Be found in seconds
Smart filters—category, location, keywords, date, rating—put your listing in front of the right clients instantly.

  • Direct booking requests, your choice of payment
Customers send a detailed request from your page (service, quantity, date, time). You can invoice them directly with no Naija.Events commission, or enable Instant Booking so they pay at checkout with a standard processing fee.

  • Professional credibility
A VERIFIED badge, star ratings and written reviews sit beside your gallery—trust signals Instagram can’t match.

  • Google loves you
Each listing is an SEO-optimised web page that can rank for searches like “decorator in Lekki”—something Instagram posts rarely achieve.

  • Tell the full story
Unlimited description space, high-res photo galleries, pricing tables, downloadable menus/agreements and FAQs—far more than Instagram’s single 150-character bio.

  • Actionable analytics
Your vendor dashboard shows views, enquiries and conversions, so you know what drives real bookings (not just likes).

  • Free marketing boosts
Platform-wide promos, homepage features and Naija.Events social channels push extra eyeballs to your listing—no ad-boost budget required.

  • Local support & resources
Access Nigerian-specific templates, contracts and how-to guides, plus real people who can help whenever you hit a snag.

Keep Instagram for inspiration—use Naija.Events to turn that inspiration into confirmed, paid bookings on your terms.

There are two possible flows, depending on how much detail you add to your listing:

1) You set up Bookable Services (prices, durations, availability)

  • What the customer sees:
A booking widget with a date and time picker, quantity selector, and an Instant Booking button if you turn it on.
    • Vendors: services or packages with unit prices and time slots
    • Venues: session blocks or day rates with capacity and add-ons
    • Events: if you run an Event Website, attendees can register or buy tickets directly

  • What you receive:
A structured email that spells out
    • the exact service or space chosen and unit prices
    • requested date, time, and quantities
    • the customer’s contact details

Instant Booking: Turn this on for any Bookable Service to let customers book and pay immediately. Great for fixed packages.

2) You list only your business or event details (no prices)

  • What the customer sees:
A Request Pricing form where they type what they need and hit Send Request.

  • What you receive:
A free-form enquiry with their message, event details, and contact info. It is a lead you can quote on.

After the request comes in

  1. Review the details and confirm you are available.

  2. Send your own invoice or payment instructions if you are using Request Pricing.

  3. Mark the job as confirmed in your Naija.Events dashboard. This boosts credibility and helps generate reviews.

Pro tip: The clearer your Bookable Services are (names, prices, and time slots), the faster customers decide, and the faster you lock in paid gigs.

Payment options

  • Event Websites: Connect your Paystack or Flutterwave account so guests pay on your site and settlement goes to you. A one-time setup fee applies.

  • Directory listings (vendors and venues):

    1. Request Pricing – you quote, invoice, and collect payment directly.

    2. Instant Booking – switch it on for any Bookable Service so customers can pay at checkout on Naija.Events. Payouts follow our standard schedule. See the Terms of Service for fees and settlement details.

It’s free to join.

  • Free Listing (everyone): Create a profile with photos, packages, and contact details. Appears in search after admin review.

  • Get Verified (free):

    • Business (CAC): Unlocks paid bookings + payouts and Marketplace selling.

    • Individual (no CAC): Unlocks paid bookings + payouts (after verification); Marketplace not available.

  • No annual fees. We only charge at checkout on successful sales.

The VERIFIED badge shows that Naija.Events has reviewed your profile for authenticity (CAC docs, portfolio, or live interview). It is open to venues, and vendors.

Verified perks

  • Top search placement – your listing floats to the first few results so planners see you earlier.

  • Priority support – a dedicated WhatsApp line to real humans who can troubleshoot or give quick advice.
  • Store tab + Marketplace access – a Store tab appears on your listing so you can sell physical or digital goods directly on Naija.Events.

Paired with the VERIFIED badge, a public stamp that we have checked your CAC docs, portfolio, or conducted a live interview, these extras make the Pro plan a fast track to more enquiries and bigger bookings.

It depends on how you collect payment.

1) Off-platform payments (Request Pricing, invoice, bank transfer)

  • You collect money directly from the customer.

  • Naija.Events does not take a commission and is not a party to the payment.

  • Use this when you do not enable Instant Booking or checkout.

2) Main-site checkout payments (Instant Booking on vendor/venue pages, or payments we process on the main site)

  • Processed via our Paystack.

  • Naija.Events per-item commission is based on each item’s price: ₦500 for every item priced at ₦20,000 or less, and ₦1,000 for every item priced above ₦20,000. This is in addition to Paystack’s fees (currently 1.5% + ₦100 per transaction).

  • For the optional on-site payments feature on vendor pages, the same tiered schedule applies. This is a standard fee; we don’t negotiate per-transaction commissions for this feature.

3) Event Websites using your own Paystack

  • We charge a one-time setup fee shown on the site.

  • No Naija.Events per-transaction commission on those payments. Paystack’s fees still apply between you and Paystack.

4) Event Websites using Naija.Events’ Paystack

  • Naija.Events per-item commission is based on each item’s price: ₦500 for every item priced at ₦20,000 or less, and ₦1,000 for every item priced above ₦20,000. This is in addition to Paystack’s fees (currently 1.5% + ₦100 per transaction).

  • If we provide extra services for the event (e.g., promo videos, event coverage) not paid upfront, a higher commission may be agreed in writing.

Payouts

  • Main website payments: request payout from your Wallet. Typical timeline is within 2 business days.

  • Event Websites on our Paystack: payouts may run automatically where supported, or after an email to admin@naija.events.

  • Event Websites on your own Paystack: payouts are handled by Paystack directly to you.

  • We may delay or withhold payouts for risk reviews, chargebacks, disputes, or policy breaches.

Taxes

  • You’re responsible for charging and remitting all applicable taxes and statutory fees.

Definitions: “Item” means an event ticket, a product in the store/marketplace, or a booked service unit.
